Tips
How to make flashcards that work
One idea per card
A card with five facts on the back is really five cards. Split it up so each card tests exactly one thing.
Write it your way
Don't copy the textbook word for word. Putting an answer into your own words is already a form of studying.
Ask real questions
"Mitochondria" on the front isn't a question. "What does the mitochondria do?" makes you actually recall the answer.
Answer before flipping
Say or think your full answer before you flip. Peeking early tricks you into thinking you know it.
Keep the hard ones
Cards you miss are the most valuable ones. Review them more often until they feel easy.
Shuffle often
If you always see cards in the same order, you start memorizing the order instead of the answers.
